The challenge
Telia implemented ServiceNow Integrated Risk Management (IRM) to streamline and centralise its governance, risk, and compliance processes across multiple countries. The company needed to solve the complexity and inefficiency of managing risks and compliance in silos.
The solution
As Telia already used the ServiceNow platform for its ticketing system, it was a natural choice to go with another solution available on the market – ServiceNow Integrated Risk Management.
The implementation of the GRC system began in 2020, leveraging the ServiceNow platform. Initially cloud-based, the system was migrated to an on-premise solution to align with evolving national security requirements. This transition has allowed Telia to consolidate all risk areas and processes into a single platform, enhancing collaboration and efficiency.
Effective change management was integral to the project’s success considering that change had to be handled on many levels internally. The change strategy prioritised understanding the unique needs of different stakeholders, leading to targeted communication and training efforts. To foster stakeholder buy-in, the strategy emphasised demonstrating tangible results and tailoring communication to specific needs, generating excitement and ensuring the successful adoption of the change.
